- Get to know the ins and outs of how and why the aircraft is designed in a certain way - Structural engineers deal with a huge number of departments, like manufacturing and procurement, so its a great way to broaden your horizons

Cons

- A bit too much reliance on subcontracting and black box tools - Hard to stand out, there are so many engineers with the same skill set
