Pros

Company will invest in your future with tuition reimbursement As a branch manager, there is flexibility with your schedule. Depending on the position you have, there are perks.

Cons

Branch Managers are being more and more limited in what they can actually "do". Over the years, the role has changed into being overpaid baby sitters. Also, the manager plays backup to every role in the branch to cover vacations. There are 10 different bosses to answer to, each with their own agenda, none of which are in harmony with the other. By far, the role is 100 times more stressful than it was 5 years ago. The company is extremely top heavy and the restructuring that took place in 2012 has hurt the culture that was once something to speak of.

Pros

not a whole lot of pros, except a flexible schedule if needed.

Cons

The Northwest region of this company has some major issues, from HR/management bad mouthing former employees, telling stories on how they had gotten the "company jerk" to cry after firing him. telling stories how hiring managers hired someone because they were hot, and then proceeding to show the picture of said employee to me, Keeping secrets within the human resources dept, alienation, closed door policy, upper management yelling and cussing at employees in conference rooms, confusion as to what type of employee they want working for them. I worked for this company for a relatively short time due to them have some very severe trust issues. They were not comfortable with my certifications which I earned through a highly reputable military program that issues such certs to wounded warriors. Even after getting them a copy of the certification, my integrity was questioned. Nor were they happy that I was training on their horrible background service my first week there by running a drivers check, so that I can train on how to process "hits" with permission from my manager. During the time that I worked with this company I improved their time to fill, Processes, hiring manager communication, and created a referral bonus program within a week of starting on my own. The hiring mangers were impressed and I have several recommendations from them stating that before I came there was no oversight, communication, and that there was no transparency at all, and that I helped improve that. This company refuses to use the current ATS system in place to improve recruitment, and wants to utilize email and excel to create hours of reports when their current ATS system does the same thing. I was fully and professionally trained in their system, and advised them to fix it or recruitment was going to hit a wall, with the amount reqs to be filled. They do not trust their hiring managers with information saying, that " they are like children, and can not keep their mouths shut" (why put them into management, if they can not practice the simple art of information security?) Although Airgas as a company is a great entity, there are individuals in Management that are ruining this regions reputation. I am not the first to write this, nor will I be the last.
