      Smart, creative environment with a heavy academic influence -- great place to be an engineer

      Cons

      Open vacation policy sounds great but is rarely practiced by employees, many of whom seem overworked -- it's up to the individual to take advantage of vacations

      Pros

      People, technology and pay. I would recommend Akamai for the people alone but coupled with kind of technologies you get to work on, its addictive for the first year at least.

      Cons

      The company's growth trajectory is quite literally on fire and problem of coping with such growth does seem to show up now and then.
