      Pros

      Very (too) laidback. Great place for those who look for work life balance.

      Cons

      - Company doesn’t innovate anymore. Missed its opportunity to become a cloud service provider like AWS, Azure etc. about 10 years ago. Now have a hard time keeping up with cloudflare etc. - Below industry average compensation. - Dead end jobs with no career advancement within the company. - RSUs were only awarded once every two years (rumor was that “yes men” got it every year) - CEO had done a good job flat lining the stock for a decade. - Ok, place to work if you are retiring in a few years.

      The company has decent benefits, office space, and compensation (for some)

      Cons

      The majority of employees have been complaining for years about their low total compensation that is not aligned with the market. The biggest issue with Akamai is the exhausting politics among the leaders, and very visible cronyism. Promotions are given to those who are part of the circle. It is demoralizing and disgusting.
