Akima reviews

Morale went downhill quickly while I was at Akima. For months, people were trickling out, let go by an often unfriendly upper management, and nothing was really said. Staff were often worked beyond capacity. Several members of my department, myself included, chose the job based on the flexibility--we could almost exclusively telework if we chose to, and we were very autonomous. Those who had the discipline to do this were very successful. Then the Director of our department was very suddenly let go, and the new boss wanted more control and demanded everyone drive into the office--some staff lived 2-3 hours away! When budgets got tight during sequestration, things were pretty desperate. We were all fighting for work and to look busy, but all but maybe 2-3 people in a 10 person department have been fired or left in the past 1.5 years.

Akima/SAVA doesn't look out for its employees and expect not to get a good salary. Bonuses and pay raises may not be given one year and instead, handed to another part of the company. There is hardly ever a time that questions get answered.
