Akron Children’s continues to face the staffing shortages that have impacted hospitals. We’re committed to taking both “traditional” and creative measures to address staffing in key areas. We continue to aggressively recruit to fill open positions at all levels of the organization – and this is an area where you and other employees can play an important role. In addition, we regularly review and adjust compensation in multiple areas to ensure we remain competitive in the marketplace – not only for recruitment purposes but also to support current employees.

Regarding communication, we encourage you to take join in our CEO’s online chats. He also has designated office hours for one-on-one conversations with employees. In addition, we hope you will take part in the active listening sessions leadership and managers are holding across the organization. These sessions are the result of feedback from our 2022 employee engagement survey and provide all employees with a forum for sharing their ideas on how and where we can improve.
