Pros

AIDT is overall a great place to work. Good benefits, steady hours, and plenty of time off. I worked with tons of great folks, and enjoyed the opportunity to provide such a big benefit to both the people of Alabama while interfacing with some of the biggest companies in the world.

Cons

Very siloed organization - communications between departments was poor at best. While they have set process in place (ISO 9001 certified), much of it seems to come off of convoluted bureaucracy that hinders adaptation to changes in the way the business operates.

Pros

Everything about my experience at AIDT has been great. From the support I've received when needing training to the willingness to provide the tools to get the job done, this is a great job. The entire staff was welcoming from the start, and you don't have to look far to find an answer when you need help. Great flex-time schedule with half-days on Fridays, plenty of holidays, vacation, and sick-time!

Cons

While this is head and shoulders above most government bureaucracies, there are still signs of government overreach lurking in the shadows (tenured staff that provide no real value to the team, lack of incentive for a job well-done, etc.). Like I mentioned these flaws are much less noticeable than in most government agencies due to the proactive leadership and great support for our mission.
