Pros

The travel benefits are great, if you are able to use them. If you like to schmooze this is a great job. Most of the folks you fly with are great.

Cons

Starting out wages are poverty level. All bases are in expensive west coast cities. You either commute in order to live somewhere affordable or pick up A LOT of flights to try to make ends meet. Worst of all is that you aren't paid for all of your time. You're required to be at the airport an hour before departure, check all of the onboard emergency equipment, and oversee the boarding of the airplane. All of this is unpaid. Upper management is not engaged. You're asked to provide top class service with low class resources and airplanes that are more like public busses. When you start out you are on Reserve and they treat you like just a number. Getting tagged and working more than 12 hours a day is not uncommon.

Pros

Travel the US/internationally for free (basically). Great company benefits ie: medical, dental, life etc...Constant changing environment. Don't report to a manager/supervisor on a daily basis. Union represented...Can work as MUCH, or as LITTLE as you want...

Cons

Constant change, NO stability. Deal with constant Weather changes, and environmental issues that effect the company. Always traveling/on the go! Have to be able to adapt to being ON-TIME 100%, and a always changing schedule...Starting on a reserve (on-call) life-style when you start.
