Pros

Flexibility (as a salaried person), and benefits. Job is good and plenty to do. I get along well with most everyone I work with (peers). The new Alcoa Corp. feels like it could be a great thing for our plant. Simpler is better! Glad to see Roy Harvey come on as the new CEO.

Cons

Management let's Union call the shots way too often. Many people get paid really well to do nearly nothing. Some union employees expect to get sleep at work so they can work elsewhere, and make more money than most of the salaried people. And the ones that do want to work get penalized by their Union "brothers" so much that they either give up and give in, or leave. Retention is a problem, unless your in the Union and are only here for the benefits, the union will make sure you never get fired, for (almost) anything.

Pros

Alcoa has great advancement opportunities for those that are willing to work for it.

Cons

Work life balance is talked about. If you are an hourly employee, there is a maximum 64 hour rule. This s not a consideration for salaried individuals.
