Pros

I had a number of opportunities and a lively career path. Many interesting things to try and discover for those willing to work hard.

Cons

Myopic directives by leaders who have lost the core values that made the business what it was back in the day.

Pros

Alcoa has excellent community support programs, and VERY generous compensation for their hourly workers.

Cons

Quality takes a distant second to keeping Bargaining Unit Members happy. While working there, a number of employees were caught falsifying critical quality data on metal used in aircraft. The responsible employees were written up, but the issue was thrown out because management wasn't willing to fight against the union through the grievance process. Also, because hourly employees are well represented by the Union, managers tend to "beat up" exempt employees for the mistakes of Union members.
