Pros

Love the technology and the manufacturing/engineering culture. Had great managers over my 10 years with the company - and a couple who were not so great. Pay is fine. Colleagues were great.

Cons

Puts performance before values when it suits them. Communication through rumors. Hero to zero with people.

Pros

Alcoa has come in, purchased Firth Rixson. It's been 1 and a half years since going into transition. Alcoa is safety first all the way. Healthcare is ok with 5 different options being offered. Old management is still here and still have the investment firm mentality.

Cons

Management. No payscale put in place. Most are below average pay for machinist national average. Employees lack enthusiasm in workplace. One of the shop qoutes is mess up to move up, in that good machinist are kept in place while the screw-ups are moved into lead position.
