Pros

It offered fairly decent benefits and the workers were very good. Steady paycheck with a lot of overtime was provided.

Cons

Mandatory overtime and the pay was not very good considering how hard you had to work. I don't mind working hard but at least pay more. Middle managers were not consistant.

Pros

Fairly decentralized so you can do good work within your own business. Plenty of opportunities to work internationally or on global teams. Alcoa name still carries some weight with external vendors, etc. Full breadth employee benefits.

Cons

Current CEO says some of the right things but fails to back it up with corresponding action. First career HR professional put into top HR job was a disappointment - she just left the company and her replacement is another non-HR professional. Most of the talent within HR has left over the past 3 yrs. Company has lost its integrity, especially among top management.

Pros

You can work 8 to 4 with 2 coffee breaks and a lanch break. There is a lot of independence in how you do your job and no one checks what are you doing.

Cons

People skills of senior management are close to none. The company does not care about recruting right people, therefore level of overall performance is very poor. There is no training scheme for employees.
