Pros

Alcoa is a company that really cares about their employees. It is clearly shown when you ask someone their tenure at Alcoa and the average is over 15 years. They are a socially responsible company as well taking the time to ensure that employees have multiple opportunities to engage with the community.

Cons

I think having the HQ in New yOrk is not the ideal situation. It would be my recommendation to move the HQ to Pittsburgh.

Pros

There were a lot of advancement opportunities (not sure if there still is), the people are good and seem to care about one another

Cons

Political, very slow to change, layoffs every 6 months, tend to keep the non-performers because someone likes them, knee jerk reactions

Pros

Alcoa has a strong history in the community. A lot of good people working here, working extra hard all the time.

Cons

Use to be a top payer, but now pay is less competitive. All levels of workers are over worked, over stressed, low people appreciation. Alcoa Business Systems requirements, safety requirements, Production requirements...one person doing the work of many is common. No work life balance. Union runs the place.
