Reasonable pay and conditions Typically well resourced and mature organisation Good internal promotion/recruitment opportunities Support employee training (if it is in the budget)

Extremely bureaucratic and process driven (to own detriment) Management teams filled with Alcoa 'lifers' maintaining the status quo Support functions (procurement, HR, finance) often override/overrule operational or business requirements Lack of real employee engagement, social events, team building etc Acceptance of mediocre performance (and lack of performance management) of many staff leading to a culture of mediocrity and lack of accountability
