Pros

Pay and benefits. Time off can be generous depending on the department.

Cons

Brutal conditions year round in the pot room. Coworkers with FMLA and lower clock numbers will generate mind boggling levels of overtime for you. A result of collective bargaining is that those employees cannot be fired so it’s a perennial issue.

Pros

The days off and being able to do as little as possible when at work to hold up the production and hope that Alcoa make less money because of it.

Cons

Working for a company named Alcoa.
