Where to start? Comp was extremely low compared to market and hours were insane but what drove me out was the fact that diversity and inclusion was a JOKE at Alignment. Some of the stuff that happened was downright illegal and the stuff that wasn't was slimy enough that it should be.
Examples:
1. A senior leader stated that the company could not release a statement on the BLM movement because it might "offend investors". What about supporting your employees of color?
2. The CEO stated in an all-employee meeting that he "didn't realize racism was prevalent" until his daughter was called a slur in college. This is MONTHS after the death of George Floyd. Incredibly out of touch and disrespectful to POC members and employees that deal with outright racist comments and microaggressions every day and who were struggling at work.
3. Pregnant employees were not given bonuses or performance increases if their maternity leave was when the bonus went out. Pretty sure this is illegal.
4. Four people were promoted at the same time in my department. Three of the promotions (for white people) were announced to the org and the fourth (for a person of color) was not.
5. When a female manager left the team for a much higher paying job (over 40K more than Alignment), her senior leader told other senior leaders that she was leaving because she was trying to get pregnant, even when she explicitly stated she was leaving for better work culture and more money.
6. Two employees were speaking Spanish and were told by their leader that they had to speak English at work because other employees might worry that they were having secret conversations about them.
7. My (male) senior leader was always asking inappropriately personal questions about my (female) relationship with my spouse.
8. Another male senior leader always felt the need to hug me and the other women in the department or touch us when he saw us. I started working from home even before COVID to avoid this.
