Pros

Money is starting to pour into Saint Vincent. Renovations in the ED, a short stay, new orthopaedic department, the new computers, the EMR change to EPIC for inpatient and out. Also money is also coming in for older outpatient clinics for renovations.

Cons

Quite a corporate feel, all about RVU. It feels like the physicians have lost control and all ran by suits. Unfortunately loosing some good people.

For a new employee, I feel hopeful

Pros

Lots to learn, always something new every day. Regular hours are a huge plus in my department. Other staff are friendly. Support and maintenance folks tend to do a good job. Feels like the company pays attention to its staff.

Cons

Parking situation isn't great. Garages are expensive and park-and-ride lots are far away from work. Security officers are rude and slow to help when needed. System-wide updates have very shaky rollouts with a lot of tech issues that should have been tested and solved before updates were implemented.
