Pros
You get to help people every day and work in an extremely interesting facility. The three day weekend is the best part.
Cons
Temp to hire is a cheap way to employ people for less than they are worth. The company looks for people with technical degrees and experience with surgical techniques to work with tissue, but the qualifications required is only a high school degree. The company laid me off with no warning after I expressed the desire to work in her previous department. They had made it clear previously that those kinds of thoughts could be expressed without backlash. I would work at Allosource if the compensation was commensurate my education level. The uncomfortable work environment is enough to warrant $15/hr minimum.
