Pros

Great employee camaraderie among all mid level to rank employees, a manager who "listens", decent benefits and stable company.

Cons

There is little or no interaction with management other than to solve “issues” and no departmental meetings in nearly 2 years. Great disconnect amongst all customer related departments, causing great dissatisfaction amongst the customer base; lack of incentive to excel, excessive and unreasonable expectation of work hours for the Implementation Consultants to include Sunday travel (outbound) and Saturday travel (return) if "necessary" which is frequent; in fact, schedules reflect this regularly. Unreasonable increase in work hours without explanation, discussion or financial compensation or any kind, while proud announcements of increased profits are regularly made. Sixty (60) to seventy (70) hour weeks are the norm and expected, exempt position are not eligible for overtime. In preparation for the last merger and the next, and making the company "presentable" financially, the employee rewards and salary increases have suffered, from minimal to non-existent. Mid-level positions have been either eliminated or combined, leaving very few options for advancement and promotion. A Cliquish environment and nepotism have not helped. However, if you “know someone” or are a “relative” of someone, you have nothing to worry about. There is a disproportionate difference of salaries among similar or identical positions. Bonuses are announced mid-way through the quarter, via email without the benefit of interaction or constructive feedback and although it was presented as an ongoing process and with great anticipation, it only took place once. Extreme discontent among the ranks causing experienced employees to leave or planning to leave in massive numbers. Many, many more issues, but enough said.

Pros

Great opportunity to learn one on the major softwares in the industry. Great colleagues. Good benefits and time off. Good training program, but then you are out in the field alone.

Cons

This job defines the term 'road warrior'. Still lots of chaos (no job descriptions, salary standards, career path structure) more than a year post merger with Misys. Salary is ok, but not stellar. 'Performance' only bonus structure, but performance is based on billing hours, not actual performace of tasks. Billing hours do not include any thing other than face to face time with client, doesn't take into account travel hours or hours spent completing tasks related to clients, but required for job completion.
