Pros

Allscripts UK is an okay organization. I like the fact that I am learning something new and the opportunity of working from home sometimes.

Cons

Allscripts UK has become very clicky. Managers brought in all their friends from CSC and the environment is now uncomfortable. Managers will frustrate your stay if you fallout with their CSC friends). There is also an unspoken discrimination effort against people of colour.

Pros

There was a lot of work place independence. I typically traveled alone and was able to make decisions as I best saw fit without micromanagement from my manager.

Cons

The travel schedule was unsustainable. It was 100% travel and eventually the company put in a policy that required travel to be either on weekends only or after 5pm on week days. We were expected to be on the clients site Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm. This resulted in often having a 7 day work week. Often times I would fly out on Sunday work at the client's office Monday - Friday fly home on Saturday and then fly out the next day (Sunday) again to another client. Again it is not a lifestyle that is sustainable for someone with a family or someone who wants a family.

Pros

Salary and benefits where good but, you are owned by them.

Cons

Horrible communication. No one knows what they are doing yet you're expected to know everything. No proper training. Absolutely zero respect for your personal time - there is no life/work balance at Allscripts! Don't believe the other reviews that say there is. It's simply not true! Tons of empty promises with no follow through. Expect 50-60 hours a week ata minimum. I am not kidding! The software isn't great and has its issues and the clients pretty much hate us and use you as a punching bag while you're onsite, on a call or at a convention. This place is not for the faint of heart or for someone that expects to have a life outside work.
