Pros

The Mayhem Guy is pretty cute, and funny.

Cons

Allstate Agents are the shadiest, unlawful agents in the United States. Sure, we all know ways and tricks to get a policy to be less expensive for the customer, so that we can 'beat' a competitor and get a sale.. but Allstate takes it to the extreme. When you work for Allstate, you are not working to keep the best interest in the customer in mind. You are working to keep the agent's 'discount ratio' below a certain threshold. The 'discount ratio' is important so the agency gets a certain amount of points. They are essential if the agency is trying to acquire another business. The problem is, there are over 17 discounts at Allstate, and sometimes the agent will tell you 'GIVE NO DISCOUNTS THIS WEEK,' So, if a customer calls and he's a widower, and he's 85 and drives 5000 miles a year, you have to put that he's single and drives more than 8000 miles a year. You have to lie to make the customer's premium go up and avoid discounts for the franchise owners. By the same token, sometime they will tell you to give every discount. For example, in December they may be wanting to hit a certain goal, so at that point you would mark everyone a widower and rate them as 5000 miles are less. Either way this not at all advantageous to the customer. If you mark the customer as widower and he's not, then his premium will increase. If you say that he drives 8000 miles and he's 'single'- his premium will be sold too high. It happens at every Allstate agency, and so many other shady things happen too. I wouldn't recommend working there to my worst enemy.

Pros

I cannot think of anything

Cons

All Glen Shapiro cares about is Wall St. Offices are closing throughout the country. There is no loyalty to employees. This company is being ran into the ground just like he did at Libery Mutual. They would rather lose talented employees to new people that dont know what they are doing to save a buck. Benefits are terrible. One third of the company did not get raises this year. Allstate keeps making more and more money while they crap on their employees.

Pros

The paid time off and the benefits that the company offers to their employees is great.

Cons

This office is totally unorganized and mismanaged. There is constant bickering among the staff. There is absolutely no room for growth. If you are looking to build a career in insurance defense, this isn’t the place to do It!
