Pros

Allstate offers great vacation time. Great work life balance. The company is very focuses on helping employees improve there well being

Cons

Many of the employees have been there for a very long time and at times are very reluctant to change. There is really no promotion unless you become a manager. Some employees have had the same position for over 25 years.

Pros

- Great benefits, 5 weeks paid vacation, flexible scheduling with opportunities to make up time missed instead of spending PTO, 401k. All benefits start day one, including pro-rated PTO. - Great work/life balance. Allstate cares about its employees and does a lot of different things to make coming to work less stressful. - They ease you into the job with 3 months of paid training and 60 days of on-the-floor mentorship from senior reps. If you're new to insurance this is absolutely essential.

Cons

- Very stressful position. Sometimes you can help a customer resolve a situation, and sometimes you have to have conversations where you're telling someone whose life depends on it that the answer is no. - First day of training they told us, "The only thing constant at Allstate is change." And it's true. Your processes will change on a daily basis. Things you used to be allowed to do will be taken away. 99% of things you need processed will have to be sent to a different department to get it done. And don't count on that last 1% sticking around for very long. - Attention to detail and organizational skills are an absolute must. You can't put anything off or you will fall further and further behind on your work. - Too much focus on audits, not enough focus on actually helping customers regardless of the situation. - While the company "supports" lateral moves or even promotions, you cannot apply for any new position during your first year of employment. On average, it takes 3-5 years to get out of the ASAP department if you are attempting to apply for other positions on a regular basis.
