- Very stressful position. Sometimes you can help a customer resolve a situation, and sometimes you have to have conversations where you're telling someone whose life depends on it that the answer is no.
- First day of training they told us, "The only thing constant at Allstate is change." And it's true. Your processes will change on a daily basis. Things you used to be allowed to do will be taken away. 99% of things you need processed will have to be sent to a different department to get it done. And don't count on that last 1% sticking around for very long.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills are an absolute must. You can't put anything off or you will fall further and further behind on your work.
- Too much focus on audits, not enough focus on actually helping customers regardless of the situation.
- While the company "supports" lateral moves or even promotions, you cannot apply for any new position during your first year of employment. On average, it takes 3-5 years to get out of the ASAP department if you are attempting to apply for other positions on a regular basis.
