Pros

-Nice people, willing to help you learn -Good knowledge sharing -Management seems attuned to the real problems in the company and how to solve them

Cons

-large, bureaucratic organization -Northbrook is a boring suburban area, not for city people -my salary was ok as an intern, but my understanding was that the salaries are not commensurate with NY or Chicago salaries for similar positions

Pros

Still offered a pension, on top of a company-matched (somewhat) 401K. Access to other OK benefits like life insurance, disability, etc.

Cons

Allstate has to be the most bloated company in the world. The hierarchy is seemingly endless. Approval for changes takes months, sometimes years. They are very slow to react and always copy competitors, rather than innovate themselves. Comparable salaries to other companies are very low.
