Pros

It's a job with ok pay and benefits. As a processor, there's no worry of a backlog of work after returning from some time off.

Cons

Little chance for advancement with a significant increase in pay. Boring, repetitious work. Limited training leads to too many errors in claim handling. Overly complicated claims software with very poor reference documentation also leads to many mistakes. Practically no accountability for mishandled claims since there is no real ownership of a claim. Too much of the "we know what's best" attitude from upper management.

Pros

Stability, good work/life balance, plenty of mature industry practices to learn and benifit from. As strong commitment to financial responsibility as an organization. A well developed IT department that has plenty of opportunity for growth.

Cons

The company is large and has created a certain amount of "red tape" that can be difficult to navigate and frustrating when trying to drive new IT or busines capabilities.
