Pros

Financially stable and good breadth of product for customers to buy and agents to sell. 401K match is excellent and provides a pension plan as well. Vacation is very liberal compared to other companies.

Cons

The company has a problem in keeping focused on the customer they want to attract and their pricing is not always in line with the competition. IT is very weak. Still use a DOS based system to do much of the work.

Pros

Some opportunities for advancement, managers friendly and willing to help, training was good, benefits are pretty good and people are generally decent to work with.

Cons

Outsourcing, layoff fears, not the most professional work environment, many employees in my dept didn't care about breaking rules, etc. Pay very low.

Pros

At first, the PTO and benefits were great. People were (for the most part) welcoming and supportive. Large cafeterias onsite, along with perks like a nail salon & barber shop, convenience stores in each building, dry-cleaning drop-off & pick-up available.

Cons

PTO was a drag to take - required minimum of 1 day for pre-approval. If you had an emergency, you got a "mark" on your file. That being said, if you even THOUGHT you MIGHT be sick the following day, you had to let your manager know the day before - then you wouldn't get dinged. Ridiculous. In my particular case, I worked harder than other people who had been there longer and that created anomosity. They had skated by for so long, they didn't like someone who showed up and actually did work. However, when reviews came around, we all got he same, standard review and rating. The race card was frequently played by some (I can only speak for the dept. I was in), and management was afraid to address the problem, for fear of legal action. Eventually I left the department, only to be completely let down in the new position - not what it was made out to be. I left the company a few months later.
