Pros

The people are wonderful! This is a Fortune 500 company and is very fair to the employees and I truly believe they are fair with customers.

Cons

Since it's a big company they decided years ago to combine sick pay and vacation pay into one and the same benefit. It's sometimes it was necessary for people to come to work sick and therefore make others in the center at risk. The reason why these people came to work was that they wanted to save there time for vacation & true that's not Allstate's fault but it puts people who were honest at risk of getting ill.

Pros

There are many very creative and enthusiastic people working at Allstate. They generate many good ideas and make day-to-day activities interesting. Allstate is a large company and there is a large variety of activities in which you can try to get involved. Their Marketing group create many innovative ideas throughout each year and implementing some of these make regular activities very interesting.

Cons

Allstate is very bureaucratic and rigid in it’s procedures. They see the achievement of repeatable processes only through inflexible regimentation. There are no clear metrics to determine success but there is a general understanding that there are problems. High level financial evidence supports this so senior leadership is forcing improvements. Because of the lack of metrics the efforts targeted at making these improvement are often ineffective and disruptive to the employees.

Pros

Opportunities to move across areas (after 1 year in specific assignment). Benefits are o.k. as long as you have a spouse that has good benefits.

Cons

1) Stripes very important. 2) Too many people who just want to collect a paycheck. 3) Politics is a way of life. 4) Leaders - Some areas have great leades in place who understand the big picture, what it takes to get the job done and recognize their employees for their hard work and dedication. Other leaders are so caught up in trying to please their bosses and/or make their bonuses that they do not care how the staff is impacted or if they are doing the right thing for the front line customers.
