I thought long and hard before writing a bad review as I'm typically an enemy of bashing previous employers, but I think it's only fair others know what they're getting into.
Do you like having an adequate training program? Do you like knowing how your success is being measured? Do you want to have a healthy work-life balance and have personal commitments outside working hours? Do you appreciate being able to ask questions and get guidance when needed? Do you like knowing that you'll be trained and corrected to improve if you're missing the mark? If you answered yes to any of those, avoid working here because none of that exists,
I heard people openly discussing how a lot of people came and went and got fired days, weeks or a month into the position, and there is definitely a reason for that (hint: It's not the employees), There are no training manuals, no standard procedures, no nothing. There's no formal training department and questions are absolutely frowned upon: People will refuse to give you a straight answer (or even AN answer) for anything.
There's a consistent "figure it out" attitude where no one bothers telling anyone anything, yet you're somehow expected to know everything. And, since there is no access to reference materials or self-training resources because they don't exist, you cannot really figure it out.
The person "training" you is still expected to perform all their other normal job duties, so due to no fault of their own, they simply cannot provide quality guidance because they'll be too busy to really focus on teaching the duties properly or developing reliable knowledge resources. Again, this is not the person's fault, but leadership because they're putting too much on their plate.
They genuinely expect to own ALL of your time under the flag of being "salaried", and if you have to leave on time (notice I didn't say early, I said ON TIME), can't stay late at a moment's notice, or are unavailable OUTSIDE your established working hours for ANY reason, you will get in trouble and you will be reprehended for trying to respect healthy work boundaries. Mind you, none of that is disclosed in the position ads, your contract, or anywhere else beforehand. You're also expected to use your personal phone and your personal vehicle for company duties and errands outside your schedule on a nearly daily basis without this being compensated in any way. There were many red flags during the hiring and onboarding process and I chose to ignore them thinking the company was still barely more than a start-up and was still in the process of figuring things out. I wish I had listened to my gut. This is genuinely not a place to build a long-term career. A casual employment where no one really cares about your success, sure, go for it. An actual career? Look elsewhere. The Command Center team seems to have their act a bit more together so this does not apply to them. All other areas, I can't recommend in good conscience.
