Pros

- Pay is good enough - If you want to do inside sales, that's what this is - If you're trying to transition into the business world from a different sector, and you're struggling to find anything else, this will do

Cons

- Everyone there is <28 years old, meaning there aren't any more experienced people to learn from - It is not intellectually stimulating (though I suppose such jobs are far and few between) - I seriously question the intelligence of some people in senior management

Pros

Only pro is knowing that no matter what, your next job/ work environment will be more positive than this

Cons

There are thousands (literally) of reviews on here outlining the true nature of AlphaSights (churn and burn, micromanaging, extremely inexperienced managers, ridiculous standards, etc). But I want to point out the mental and emotional toll associated with working at this firm- I was an employee for a little over 2 years (which is geriatric and tenured for AlphaSights), and I want to emphasize the workplace PTSD and residual anxiety that followed me to me new job. Even though my new job is a very supportive and positive work environment, at first I would still feel the same anxiety, nausea, and dizziness in the morning before going into the office as I did with AlphaSights. I'd tense up any time I'd have a new task assigned to me, I'd freak out if I realized it took me longer than 15 mins to respond to a message, and I was very wary of trusting any management. AlphaSights loves to say that even though they churn through employees, they set them up well for their next role- this is not the case. My new job is my dream, and was mostly obtained from my job and internship experience prior to AlphaSights. Instead of setting me up for success or being a "launchpad", AlphaSights deteriorated my mental health and left me with PTSD I'm still working through. I strongly advise anyone reading this- it is NOT worth it. No one should experience this type of work environment and you deserve better.

Pros

- Young fun coworkers - Free snacks and drinks in office

Cons

Please do not believe any of the positive reviews. AlphaSights is truly a terrible place to work. First off, the work is absolutely miserable and borderline unethical. All you do is harass professionals all day through LinkedIn, email, calls, and texts for them to take a 1 hour call with your client, where a lot of the time they're looking for nearly confidential info. You are pushed and rewarded to disrespect experts' time, confidentiality boundaries and compensation; it's so incredibly unprofessional and would not be tolerated at any respectable workplace. You learn zero hard skills - all you do is search LinkedIn, send template emails, cold call experts, and write vague profiles on their experience for the client. This job is basically sales and recruiting but worse. If that doesn't sound bad enough, you are micromanaged by a manager that is 2 years older than you and has zero experience outside of AS. You'll be forced to talk about your mundane tasks 3 times a day and announce anytime you'll be off the desk for 5 minutes. The managers will always ask for your feedback and say that it's a "feedback-oriented culture" but will also put you down for any negative feedback you give. Also, the compensation and performance metrics are so incredibly unfair. It's all reliant on the types of projects you get, experts you have to work with, and level of engagement from the client. You'll be reprimanded on a weekly basis about your performance, even though the vast majority of it is out of your control.
