Great place to start your career, understand what the job is and make sure it's right.
Pros
This is an incredible place to start your career - there is no other company where you'll have as much direct responsibility, revenue impact, and learn as many quick business skills. With this being said - this role is meant for sales-oriented, HIGHLY self-driven, money-motivated people who also can work well on teams, take feedback and implement it quickly, and put the needs of their clients before their own. THIS IS NOT A CONSULTING ROLE - which they've gotten better at advertising, but just know that coming in. People go on to great things after AlphaSights - MBAs, consulting, other roles in client services, account management, etc. But do not think this is a consulting role. Because it's not, and if you think it is, you WILL be disappointed. If you're someone who loves to work hard, generate wins, and work with clients, this is a fantastic starting place for you. They are slowly improving processes around manager promotions, feedback culture, and training, and I hope that long term positive changes will be seen through this and finally listening to some employee feedback. The negative reviews on here usually cover 2 main themes: (1) This is a sales job and it can repetitive - yes, correct. But again, if you accept this job thinking it's a research or consulting role, that's incorrect. Ask the managers interviewing you - they will tell you the exact same thing, and this role is great for the right person (athletes, frat stars, sales kids, etc.) (2) Long hours - welcome to New York City professional services. You won't find anything better in finance, IB, consulting, accounting, or anything else. You'll make some amazing friends here post-grad and while you likely won't be at AlphaSights forever, and like any company, nothing is perfect, you will gain some irreplaceable experiences.
Cons
I'll give my honest cons as well: The way senior management speaks can be quite condescending at times, and last year there was a feeling they did not care about any employee feedback. Certain business units need to have less of an elitist mindset. There is some micromanagement around work hours.
