Pros

decent pay great benefits good co workers that give 100 percent love them all

Cons

supervision has no idea what they are doing they don't know how to place workers through out the warehouse and expect you to stay until all your work is done when they are way understaffed in the first place there growing way to fast for there own good their promising their customers something they cant hold their word to because they don't have the staff to do so and their working the ones they do have to the point were they cant take no more its all about management and not about alro and its people the mission statement is something the st. Louis branch does not live by if you think they hire or promote within think again and if you ask for something forget about it we as workers had to form our own process improvements and make our system work for us the best we can because management and supervision cant come up with anything they don't know how to run the operation they are getting payed for nothing really because the workers are doing there jobs for them they expect miracles from us we are not robots and if al glick knew what was going on in our branch he would more then likely fire all upper management.

Pros

The only pro was the pay.

Cons

60 hours a week. They talk about how hard it is to get new hires to pass all their tests and drug and physicals and then they get someone and they fire you wihout warning for mediocre reasons. I was told I was being let go after 30 days of a 90 day probabtionary period. When I asked why I was told I was picking up some bad habits from the senior employees *the same one's they paired me up with for training*. So let's see here, Alro hand picked my trainers and then fired me for doing the same thing as my trainers? I was left shocked and in awe. In the end after some prying I got this out of the plant supervisor, "I watch my new guys a lot and I noticed that you were not at your work station when the break bell rang", my answer " I followed my trainer and I thought the bell meant that break was over so when the bell rang we would all walk back to our workstation". That's it, literally fired for doing the exact same thing as the other 12 employees. Where I come from when you hire a new person you should let him know when he's doing something wrong and what the policies are before firing him. In addition, I never even received a employee handbook, I was never told of any rules whatsoever while working at Alro, so to be fired over a rule that I was never told is ridiculous, especially after 2 of the 3 supervisors had just told me I was doing a great job and to keep up the good work.
