New generation of leadership lacks perspective
Pros
This company boast an extensive on-boarding procedure, excellent benefits, competitive pay and room for growth. There is an emphasis on safety that isn't shared by other companies in this industry. There is a firm foundation established by the founders of the company that fosters a culture of caring about employees and allowing them to grow.
Cons
The management at my branch placed expectations on everyone that were high, and while that motivated driven individuals, it also exploited them fully. Engaging fully and putting forth maximum effort would be met with a calloused raising of the bar, and this continued until high performing team members got used up, burned out, and so overworked that the extensive safety program became irrelevant, as workers were simply too tired to work safely. That, or the burden of several employees was placed on one person. This became such a common trend that the company ended up losing the type of workers that they would benefit from retaining long-term. The older generation of management and the corporate management team displayed old-school integrity and consideration for the workers, but the younger generation of management behaved like spoiled children who just assumed that the money would continue to flow regardless of what happened to the workers.
