Hubris and a lack of empathy have ruined a great company

Pros

Altruist has an inspiring mission that was worth working towards. I got to know some great team members.

Cons

Certain members of the executive team have blundered by steering the company in the wrong direction. Product decisions have provoked public backlash from customers. Rather than addressing existing system issues, they prioritized feature releases, which led to frequent fires that affected the company's reputation. Employee morale has plummeted as decisions like RTO are made without regard to their well-being. Hard work and contributions went unrecognized.

- Good work/life balance - Team mates are nice - Super diverse, not a full indian company - Decent benefits

Cons

- They recently announced RTO, with at least 50% of their employees living outside of CA. - Codebase is a bit chaotic - Long-tenured employees can occasionally serve as gatekeepers - They try to be agile but there's lack of organization and tasks are not always completed on time.

Good product, comp is completive, good customers

Cons

Major growing pains ahead. Quite possibly moving too fast and customers are pissed. They hired employees as remote and are forcing an RTO without providing any actual data just the CEO rambling about his feelings. Going to be huge workforce turnover that will cause a lot of pain for customers. Sad to see such a thriving company start going downhill.
