      Pros

      This is not like your typical large enterprise. Most of what we do isn't "keeping the wheels turning" - it's building the future of the company and constantly innovating. Plus, we get to play with the latest in cloud technologies.

      Cons

      It's not structured. If you need someone to tell you how to approach a situation, or need a specific set of criteria to do your job, it will be a challenge to work at AWS. There isn't always a right answer to a question and you need to consider organizational politics.

      Pros

      Amazon lives by their leadership principles. This is the first company I have worked for that where I have actually seen the leadership principles in action. Every day, decisions are made based on these. They put the customer first and design work patterns based on customer needs. They make sure the employees have the resources they need to be successful. Amazon empowers their employees to always do what is best for the customer.

      Cons

      I have been with Amazon for a year now. The only real downside is that everything moves so quickly. They innovate quickly, build quickly, and have new product and services available for their customers. You have to be able to learn and adapt very quickly.
