Benefits and Work Environment

Pros

Safety and Work/Home balance is a priority. Benefits are generous even for PT employees from day one which together with starting pay kept me there until I reached FT promotion. Getting time off for family reasons and medical is generally easy to get approved. As long as you demand the best from yourself you are treated great and rewarded for such. Generally, advancements are hired from within so iif you are driven, then the skies the limit for upward mobility.

Cons

You don't need to have lazy days. They are not tolerated so stay home if you can't perform to excellent par which is not so difficult if you have a strong personal work ethic. Generally you have to learn specifics of how to be successful from other experienced employees as there is a very short learning curve and management themselves don't generally take the time to provide the personal individual training you need at the beginning due to the large number of employees. So don't be afraid to ask for help from your team coworkers. They will help you as you depend on each other.

Pros

I've been working for amazon for almost 6 months now. The benefits and pay are amazing. All the time off options are great. Just use them wisely as you only get so much a year. Start off day 1 with 10 PTO (paid time off) as well as 20 hours of Unpaid Time Off and 3 hours of vacation time. You accrue more PTO and vacation time each pay period. You also get 20 hours of Unpaid Time Off every 3 months for a total of 80 a year. As of this year it all transfers over if it isn't used by the end of the year. The benefits they offer are absolutely amazing as well. Plus 3 days off isn't bad either.

Cons

Peak can be exhausting and 30 minutes for lunch isn't enough in my opinion.
