Pros

Good pay depending on vehicle, hustling for a good route...

Cons

Wear and tear. I have been working at Amazon Flex for about to weeks now in Boston and have already put up over 1,000 miles into my car. Depreciation is not as bad as I drive a car north of 190k miles but definitely take that into consideration since I have seen lots of 2012+ models in there. At the beginning I used to grab whatever cart/route they gave me or whatever was next to where I parked, not anymore. I have seen people loading routes and people checking just about every cart in the building to pick the easiest one. I hate doing it but it is what it is, cant break my back while someone gets pays just the same to go around the block. And since it was not mentioned in any other comments, bringing packages back to the station is a pain in the behind... Finishing 20+ miles away from the station after 9 or during peak hours and going back to the station suuucks. Most routes take about 3 hrs to deliver and around 60% of the time you have to go back to the station. That 3 hour route you picked up turns into a 4+ shift. App is a mess sometimes, had to turn back to the station 3 times because my route completely dissapears. Had scanned over 55 packages once and had to unload them from my car, place it on a cart, bring it over to an assistant so they can scan them again, scan them and organized them on my car yet again.

Pros

Flex schedule/gig job. Extra side money

Cons

You will find yourself getting a notification to work an hour prior to assigned block. So you drive to warehouse then have to wait to clock in 15 minutes prior to shift. After this you sit in waiting area and wait until sorters distribute items into black plastic carts, about 30 minutes. Mistakes sometimes are made missing or extra package. You scan all packages prior to leaving for this reason. Then must wait another 5 to 10 minutes before leaving warehouse for any corrections. Mind you you're now 45 minutes already into a 2 hour delivery block. You will be late on something. They say call in if this is the case even if you do you might still receive an email questioning your tardiness/unreliability. Also at times drivers are given more than 1 cart of packages to deliver. This too can make you late especially if delivering to apartments. Not worth it if you don't have another source of income don't do this job, side gig only.
