Amazon Flex App needs drastic improvements/ Very unreliable
Pros
Decent pay for pt work
Cons
11/23 was my first delivery. I was not given anything that identifies me as an Amazon Flex driver. Was not given a required reflective vest. Was given only 2 stickers saying "sorry we missed you...." I had a ton of packages..mostly envelopes I had to leave at front doors because the multiple apt complex office did not take packages for absent residents. The app is extremely unreliable. When choosing a customer to scan it suddenly goes back to the map to start navigating when I chose multiple times "I've Arrived." It wouldn't scan bar codes half the time or if it did you wouldn't know it. I had issues at the start while trying to scan packages at the DC. I could spend 5 min at a customers door trying to get the app to scan without success, randomly. They expect you to call cust svc every time the app is stuck. If you do that you will be on your shift way past its ending time and you will not get pd past your shift end time. When I returned one pkg to the N. Austin DC I had to call cust svc to mark all pkgs except one as delivered. The rep Confirmed she completed this request. So, I get an email that says I have undelivered packages that need to be returned to the DC and, "The package status and reason you provide in the Amazon Flex app are shared with the end customer. If a package is scanned incorrectly, the customer experience is negatively impacted." The problem is the app malfunctions a majority of the time. This was not my fault and I don't appreciate being treated as if I was an unreliable driver. I worked my butt off and had 3 or 4 apt complexes to deliver to...not an easy task.
