Pros

Once you obtain seasonal position in whatever dept you gain some experience in that higher position.

Cons

If you cant pass the storytelling part of interviewing you might be stuck in your same position. Interviews are only based on whether or not your a good storyteller.

Pros

Purchasing is involved in all parts of an amazon FC, so you get to learn about all the other departments and get involved with their projects.

Cons

It's a dead end job. The procurement chain was rearranged a few years ago removing the level 4 "buyer" position and normalizing it to an L5. Going from tier 3 hourly to L5 is next to impossible.
