Pros

Fascinating to work at this scale, strong focus on operations, a lot of smart people to work with.

Cons

AWS focus on security and operations has gone overboard at the expense of feature delivery, uncompetitive salary, too many escalations and fire drills interrupting the engineering work.

Pros

- Culture that focuses on getting to the right thing for the customer, regardless of who's idea it is - exposure to lots of really interesting work and ideas - opportunity for massive impact - teams have a huge amount of autonomy and agency

Cons

- doesn't have as many benefits as other tech companies (free food, etc) - operational load (on-call) can vary depending on your team

Pros

Everyone is smart, driven and hard-working. I feel intellectually engaged all day and the company is very well set up for working from home. I recommend highly!

Cons

Work/life balance is not for everyone but once you get in your groove, things start to normalize.
