Pros

Customers live the service. Tips are tremendous. You are paid $18 per hour plus tips.

Cons

Like all app based delivery jobs, too many drivers are hired. In this case, almost 200. Amazon clearly only cares about customers and not about the people on the front line so to speak who the customers actually can put a face to, which are the drivers. Working as an IC is hard enough, but after working two four day work weeks, I have not worked in twelve days and am on The schedule only once in the next seven days. What good is it to get hired if you can't work? The corporate managers here don't know squat and only tell you the, scheduling is random. I guess Skynet has finally taken over.

Pros

Amazon pays well because of the value of the stock. Their recruiters are very good at selling the positive side of Amazon. The company is very customer centric. Seattle is amazing place to live. There is a lot of mobility and opportunity in the company. the company culture and expectations are clearly outline in the company's Leadership Principles. There 15 principles. The top 3 I see displayed everyday are customer obsession, bias for action, frugality.

Cons

Management style is very abrasive. The culture is dog eat dog mentality but with a very passive aggressive style so it is very subtle. There is a lot of chaos and a lot of things are done without really being thought through. because of high turnover, it is difficult to gain traction on projects as peers, managers, and dependent teams change over constantly. the leadership principles that need more attention are insist on high standards and hire and develop the best with a particular emphasis on developing talent.
