Pros

There is not a requirement for a landline phone Work from home Pay is decent for a work from home position

Cons

Training, training, training! Did I mention the training? Or lack thereof. You work on some fast-paced computer based training for about a week (which is mostly read only and full of glitches). You do absolutely no call role playing before you are thrown into LIVE calls on only your second week of training! Talk about nerve-racking... We lost a handfull of people right then. My team leader for training was great as far as encouragement and patience, but she had only been with the company one month before we started and she didn't know a whole lot more than we did on the tough calls. We were her first team out of training. The 'knowledge center' is supposed to be your first line of info when on a call with a customer, but it did not tell you the step-by-step process for performing tasks on a customers account (because you memorized all those computer modules, right?) You would think, as I erroneously assumed, that a company like Amazon would have top-notch training. You would be wrong.

Pros

They take their Leadership principles very seriously, and apply them across the entire organization. Amazon works very hard to identify and reward employees who contribute and actively apply these principles. Hardcore but friendly corporate culture, very straightforward, and easy to engage with those outside your team, make friends, explore opportunities and learn

Cons

HEAVY workload. Depending on your role and org chart, expectations can be very very high. Some teams have no real growth opportunities, requiring an employee to "shop around" internally. (However, Amazon culture understands and is open to this)
