Pros

Sign-on bonus is offered upfront and then paid pro-rata monthly during contract. Contracted directly with Amazon and not via an agency. Employee perks included such as private health insurance and paid leave (including paid sick leave). Niche job function can make you in high demand with experience. Possible to apply for approved accommodations for hybrid working around the RTO mandate if truly required. One free barista coffee per day! Tea/coffee/hot chocolate only provided in floor-level kitchens.

Cons

RSUs are included in package but you won't get access to them unless you are re-contracted or sign on as a permanent employee with no gap in employment between your STC and the perm contract. Niche role so fewer roles that fit exactly this type of skillset/experience. RTO mandate is still in effect. Offices can be loud and crowded, difficult to book/find meeting rooms etc. No snacks and limited in-building food options available which are also fairly expensive. "Frugality" leadership principle means you'll likely fly economy in a middle seat on most business trips and the flights will be at the most inconvenient times possible. In-house enterprise tooling leaves a lot to be desired (warning if you're joining Amazon from a more tech, tech company!).
