Pros

The work-life balance is great depending on what team you are on. My team was very good about keep work during work hours and allowing for time off on the weekends. Also the benefits are great and everyone is very open to taking time off for vacations or any other reason.

Cons

Because Amazon is such a large company, you may not get placed on a team doing what you are interested in. The work can be very different that what is expected so be prepared to be doing things that are not necessarily related to your background. Generally if you stay on one team for too long you wind up becoming stagnant pretty quickly. But switching teams within Amazon is very common if that's something you want to do.
