      literally the worst

      Pros

      brilliant coworkers. Pay is better than non FAANG companies (worst for FANNG).

      Cons

      the days of AWS being innovative and responsive are long over. The internal tooling is the absolute worst. It's is largely a political entity. 80% of your time is bureaucratic overhead. Incentives are misaligned such that everyone is afraid to do good work and there is a large amount of political intrigue. Many of the values have been corrupted and turned against itself. Brilliant coworkers, held back by something fundamentally broken.

      Pros

      Schedule? 4/3 shift is about the only benefit.

      Cons

      Micromanagement. If you call out bad behavior/ non support of managers you're targeted and they make it super toxic and hostile. I liked it for about 5 months, then it's like a switch was flipped and manager did a 180. Had zero issues until I called out his lack of support. Pay and benefits are below standard.

      You will learn to pick up every piece of knowledge by yourself.

      Cons

      After a while, the job starts to get boring. There are a lot of bad middle managers. Amazon is not so fun to work for. The longer one works for Amazon, the less one's paycheck becomes. One should think twice about the Amazon RSU payout schedule.
