When I was hired in 2016 I was told that Amegy is big on promoting from within the company. I haven’t seen that to be true. Not just for myself but for others as well. Promotions are next to impossible to get. To move out of a retail branch position you must have a college degree. Years of experience in another field matters little. When you apply for a position expect to be stuck there.
I’ve experienced two managers who are bully managers. “Correcting” rudely in front of coworkers and customers. One also likes to yell at employees for something they didn’t do, throwing f-bombs, all in front of other coworkers!
Their technology is antiquated at best. Customers are spoiled. Overall there is lots of pressure/drama at Amegy. I’ve worked for many banks over the years and have never experienced the environment reflected by this company to their employees.
No love lost here! Don’t expect to be told what you’re doing right. Be sure expect to hear all about your mistakes. Yearly reviews don’t exist replaced by “coaching” sessions that never happen.
