      AFCU offers a great atmosphere and plenty of opportunities for growth

      Pros

      AFCU employs people who really believe in and promote the company's values. They genuinely care about the membership and work hard to hire staff that will selflessly serve the members and other employees. AFCU is also so great about promoting from within, and they work hard to train and advance their employees, teaching skills that will be an advantage in any workplace.

      Cons

      The experience can vary branch to branch or in departments, and it can be difficult when a particular team is not a good fit. That being said, if one position isn't working, there are so many opportunities to find one that you can feel great about.

      Pros

      I've worked here for a little over two years, and this is a great place to work. America First provides excellent benefits, including (but not limited to) health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, 401k and pension, college tuition reimbursement. Management is excellent. We are given sufficient training in order to be confident at our jobs, and supervisors are always happy to answer any questions. There are ample opportunities for advancement. Working here is fun! Fantastic coworkers!

      Cons

      The amount of knowledge required can be intimidating. There are a lot of strict federal and company regulations, so if you're not prepared to comply with that, you'd be better off elsewhere (though this has never caused any trouble for those I've worked with, I know some people aren't equipped to deal with such pressure).

      Pros

      I've worked other places but found my greatest satisfaction working here. There are career opportunities everywhere. I'm happy when I go home, tired but happy because I feel like I'm truly helping people and not taking advantage of them. America First trains it's people exceptionally well in service and doesn't pressure employees to meet unrealistic goals. Benefit offered are top of the line and employees are highly valued by the organization. This was my happy accident finding this place to work, I've been here over 30 years.

      Cons

      Size. We are getting much larger and I hope we never lose the culture that has made us great. I know efforts are in place to keep the same feel.
