Pros

ACE does an incredible job of providing new experiences to young adults as well as exposing them to all sorts of possible avenues.

Cons

I started a walkout in December of 2022 because the Sacramento branch was not putting safety above profit. There were multiple cases of covid and extreme weather where the job was placed in higher priority than individuals.

Pros

You will meet a great group of new people.

Cons

The long work hours, combined with the staff that don't see you as volunteers and more as hourly workers.

Pros

High quality of professionalism and delivers high quality trails and conservation nationally.

Cons

Work culture is between 40-60 hours a week with no overtime. Benefits aren't very good, no retirement match, healthcare costs a ton, and no paid leave if you have a kid. Good place to work if you're 18-23 but if you're a professional adult with a family, you wont feel valued.
