Pros

Many types of positions you can move between Generally teams are high performing

Cons

Senior people are homegrown with little outside experience Cliques are prevalent Senior leadership does not enforce or follow it's own policies Compensation is generally on the lower end of the band compared to similar responsibilities in other companies Amex will make life miserable for you until you voluntarily leave rather than terminate you VP leadership is shuffled around from position to position and very little new ideas or leadership is brought in from the outside VP and director leadership is usually less qualified in technical terms than the people who work for them.

Pros

Amex is a fantastic place to learn. Best marketing education I ever had.

Cons

It's not an Us Vs Them system, It's me Vs You when it comes to team work ratings and promotions. I was there over 10 years and I was in denial that team work is how you succeed. If your an MBA going to Amex, plan your exit strategy on day 1.
