The top performers are smug, slimy, stereotypical salesmen, but they’re revered, honored, and awarded by the leadership here, because they do exactly what is expected from them. They’re exactly what the leaders of this agency want. They expect you to tell people that “Life insurance is the cornerstones of your financial future” when most of the people you sell to don’t have any investments outside of their 401K, are living paycheck to paycheck, and can barely live on the salary they’re paid. You will work 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, and be lucky to sell a policy. If not, you will be expected to work Saturday & Sunday as well. The culture of this agency, and probably the whole of AIL at large, is one of greed, manipulation and power.
