Pros

They have a Outstanding 3 month, 600 hour Training Program with 150 courses each with multiple tests. Truly worth it, and they pay you $12,000 via outsourcing you as a Kelly Services employee, thus taxes are taken out which is great.

Cons

I was told I would receive a GUARANTEED 45 TO 55 K BASE per year while developing my agency. LIE. They do not allow you to sell during the internship and will not even authorize one to buy their own business cards. Then, the first month after training they demand 10 insurance contracts or you are off the Advance. Yes the guarantee is a month to month forecast advance on next months commissions! Miss it and you get only $750 the following month and you do not receive commissions for your sales. American National's AAA program is a true scam. The company does no advertising so no leads exist and they want you to spend #2000 per month to them for marketing. You also have to pay for your own $100 per month E/O insurance out of the advance. Not to mention, they set you up after the 3rd month as your own business, so you have to buy everything from them including business cards at twice the price you would pay locally. The AAA program is designed to make you fail unless you view this as a franchise. They charge you for after hour answering service. But they market to people without the required $100,000 required to do their program. Best bet is to have a different job lined up and merely take advantage of their excellent 3 month paid training, then exit to your prearranged new position. The company only will insure the top 5 percent of risks too.

Pros

Work - life balance is the only thing I see as a pro.

Cons

Cold canvasing is not for me. The Company has an old atmosphere, they recently encouraged employees to fill out all applications electronically, by recently I mean in June 2015!! I feel I am going backwards, everything is in paper, no e mails, it feels like the 80's there.

Pros

It has good commission, 401K available, health benefits (extremely expensive).

Cons

Just like any good salesman the people from ANICO like to paint a nice picture of the company saying it's the best. I'm a college student looking for a stable job and this is not it. 95% of the people working in my office don't have college education, no high school nor GED about 60% can't speak english, not even some of the managers. So for them this is like a dream come true but not really. When you have college education or some type of education you realize just how lame this job is. They tell you that you make your own schedule, yet you are required to work from 8:00 to 1:00 pm then 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The director of the company told me straight up that I can't continue with my college degree and I couldn't work anywhere else nor have other type of income. They make you drive all around your city, no paid gas nor car maintenance and their excuse is that they pay you well enough. Probably the worst thing about this job is the fact that the manager makes you put money from your own pocket to pay the premium of new business, or the premium of some policies that might cancel,
