Pros

The company is stable, the pay is good for the Springfield, MO area, benefits are nice (if a bit pricey), job security is relatively strong, and mid and lower level management is quite competent.

Cons

There are some politics between departments at times, and in my opinion poor upper level management results in a reactionary way of running the company which doesn't always work well. Influential agents have disproportionate influence especially on insurance rates.

Reasonable work schedule and typically not alot of overtime expected from employees Fully provided pension (although not enough to truly retire on)

Cons

Management Communication is absolutely the worst I have ever seen in a business Feedback from reviews is not consistent and typically is designed to suppress employees enthuisiasms and expectations for their career Very inconsistent record of promotions; those who work the hardest and consistently prove to be leaders within the organization are the least likely, in many cases, to receive promotions
